Are you looking for a place to hang out with your loved ones this Christmas season? Or somewhere to bring your pre-believing friends to? Here are some fun and meaningful events in Singapore (and even Malaysia) to be at!

Oxtail is a story about a dysfunctional family of three siblings who never can quite love each other: Malcolm, a depressed writer who can’t seem to find any truth in life; Angie, a burgeoning social media influencer with deeply seated insecurities; and Grace, an ex-air stewardess who is going through a rocky marriage.

Taking place over a span of two different Christmas dinners in two years, the siblings go on a journey confronting loss, inherited family scars and their rocky path to recovery – through God and a bowl of oxtail soup.

Game for Love is a drama production with dance, carols and a virtual reality video experience. Brian is an up-and-rising e-gamer who seems to have it all figured out until an unexpected event from his past catches up with him and makes him wonder: Is love at all worth it? Come on down to the Pavilion from 5.30pm onwards for some food and drinks before the drama. Enjoy relaxing music by the live band and also take a heritage tour in the Nave.

Their evening drama is based on true stories and shows how 3 different individuals find their comfort, peace and healing in Jesus after experiencing challenges in life: retrenchments, mental health conditions, family conflicts and divorce. This will be followed by a talk by Dr Leslie Tay of ieaishootipost.sg.

  • Christmas at the Fort

To mark Singapore’s Bicentennial, Christmas at the Fort (CATF) will feature well-known Singaporean musicians Charlie Lim, Joanna Dong, Olivia Ong and Daphne Khoo as well as performances by community groups and aspiring young musicians.

Each evening will culminate with a multimedia show designed by Brian Gothong Tan, with performances by a live orchestra showcasing 200 years of Christmas celebrations in Singapore and a Christmas carol singalong for everyone.

At the fringe events from 4pm daily, CATF will also feature an eco-market specially curated for the occasion, a variety of food and beverage stalls, a playground and fitness activities for all.

Visit any of CEFC’s centres this Christmas to hear from Judith Halim, Dickson and Allison Lim, and Li Nanxing respectively about their life stories. A concurrent children’s programme is available at the Bukit Panjang and Woodlands centres. The East Centre will be holding a Christmas carnival for children aged 3 to 12 years old.
